    Our goal is to design high-quality compact electric cargo bikes that make cities better places to live. CERO bikes allow almost anyone to accomplish most their daily needs safely, sustainably, and efficiently – without a car.

    We envision a world where you don’t have to sacrifice convenience, or the planet’s health, to get where you’re going and do what you need to do.

    CERO Bikes History

    In 2015, founder and CEO Kiyoshi Iwai began research and development for a new compact cargo bike, teaming up with design, branding, and engineering professionals at Vapor Studio and GSD Global. In 2017, the first prototypes were tested, a crowdfunding campaign successfully raised funds for an initial order, and the first production bikes were delivered to customers by the end of the year.

    In 2018, CERO One was named as the Bicycling Magazine Editor’s Pick and in 2019 the latest version of the CERO One won the Gold Award at Eurobike, the world’s top bicycle trade show. With all of the first production run sold out, the team is now hard at work getting the latest CERO One ready to launch in summer 2021.

    The CERO One: A Modern Take on Classic Design

    The CERO One was inspired by time-tested bikes such as the Japanese Mamachari, the British Royal Mail Bike, and the Schwinn Cycle Truck, bringing this utility to the 21st century with a sleek, modern design.

    Kiyoshi knew this style of bike wasn’t common in U.S. market and wanted to give people a new option to fit their lifestyle. The CERO One features a small front wheel and compact step-through frame, allowing for high cargo capacity despite the bike’s standard length.

    Who We Are

    CERO is a family owned and operated business founded by Kiyoshi Iwai, who moved from Japan to California over 20 years ago. Kiyoshi, a passionate environmentalist and surfer, watched as traffic congestion in LA grew unsustainably and climate change rapidly increased. He saw electric cargo bikes as one of the primary solutions.

    Today, the team at CERO Bikes is still proud to put a personal touch on everything we do and maintain excellent customer service. We don’t sacrifice quality for growth or profit in anything we do.

    What is covered

    CERO bicycles come with a limited 2-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship to the original purchaser of the bike on the frame, fork, racks, and baskets. Most Shimano components also come with a limited 2-year warranty.

    What is not covered

    The warranty is NOT valid on tires, tubes, valves, rims, spokes, nipples, brake pads, handlebar, seat tube, pedals, kickstand, cogs, hubs, saddle, grips, drive belt, cables, fenders, lights, paint finish, decals, nuts, bolts, or cable housing.

    The warranty does NOT cover defects resulting from normal wear and tear and material fatigue, improper assembly or maintenance, overloading, misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents, alterations or modifications, irregular maintenance, non-professional repairs, improper adjustments, welding, bonding, repainting, addition of components not originally intended to be compatible with CERO bicycles, or anything else beyond CERO’s control.

    How to submit a warranty request

    To submit a warranty claim, please contact CERO directly. You will be asked to provide a detailed description of the issue and send supporting evidence such as clear pictures or video.

    In the event of damage during shipping, immediately inspect your package and bike and report the damage to the delivery person and company. Take pictures or video of the damage immediately upon delivery and contact CERO for further instructions.

    CERO will carefully examine each warranty claim in order to make a determination its validity. If we determine that a defect on the frame, fork, racks, or baskets is the result of defective materials or workmanship and is therefore covered under this warranty, CERO will, as its sole option, repair or replace the defective part. Assembly or disassembly, transportation costs and/or freight charges, and any additional labor costs related to the replacement of parts is not covered under this warranty.

    Terms of warranty
    • This warranty is only valid for original purchaser of the bike and is not transferable.
    • CERO’s liability under this limited warranty shall never exceed the amount of the original purchase.
    • This limited warranty is expressly provided in lieu of or instead of all other warranties, including any alleged implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, and are limited to the same duration as the expressed warranty herein. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitations of implied warranties, incidental or consequential, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.
    • The warranty will be void as a result of improper use of the bike beyond its original intent, such as aggressive riding, use for competition or racing, stunts, tricks, jumping, or damage due to the rider’s lack of experience, competence, or technical skill.

    We hope that you will love your CERO One, but if you want to cancel your order or return the bike (or any accessories), we’re happy to help.

    Cancellation Policy
    • If you made an order in error, contact us as soon as possible to cancel the order before your card is charged and before the items ship.
    • Orders that are cancelled before your credit card is charged and before items have shipped will be fully refunded.
    • Orders that are cancelled after your credit card is charged and before items have shipped will receive a refund minus a 5% processing fee to cover credit card fees.
    • Refunds will be applied to the credit card used in the original transaction.
    • Orders that are cancelled after items have shipped are subject the Return Policy below.
    Return Policy
    • Returns are only accepted on bicycles and accessories purchased through our website.
    • The Return Policy is only active within 15 days of the date of delivery.
    • To receive a refund, the items must be new and unused and returned in the original packaging.
    • Refunds will be applied to the credit card used in the original transaction.
    • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer – CERO will send a shipping label to you and deduct this cost from the refund.
    • CERO will not accept COD shipments of returned products.
    • All refund requests will be handled according to the CERO Warranty.
    • Returns involving a problem covered under warranty will be refunded minus a 5% processing fee to cover credit card fees.
    • Returns not involving a problem covered under warranty will be charged a 15% processing and restocking fee.
    • Purchases financed with Klarna are final and non-refundable if not cancelled within 24 hours after placing the order.

    Processing a Return
    • To process a return, first contact CERO to discuss the issue with our team – we’ll do our best to find a solution. If their is no way to resolve the issue, CERO will issue a return authorization.
    • Returns and refunds will only be processed once they are approved by CERO and you receive a confirmation email. Do not ship your bike back until the return has been authorized in writing by CERO.
    • Once you receive a return authorization, pack the bike carefully using the original packing materials, affix the shipping label provided by CERO to the outside of the box, and then arrange a drop-off or pickup with the appropriate shipping provider (this may be UPS or FedEx).
    • Once we receive the bike, you should see the credit to your account within 30 days.

    EUROBIKE: Winning the GOLD Award – CERO

    CERO Bike CEO and founder, Kiyoshi Iwai, landed in Friedrichshafen, Germany on Sunday September 1st with his eyes set on winning gold. He was attending the 15thannual EUROBIKE Show where, hundreds of thousands of people in the bike industry gathered for a 4- day bike expo full of speakers and exhibitors alike. The event kicked off on Tuesday, September 3rd where attendees came together to learn about the future of bicycling and to further explore their involvement within the industry. This year’s main focus was urban mobility solutions.

    The attendees were excited to learn about the newest and most cutting edge technologies to enter the bike world. With thousands of bike enthusiasts at the show, each was focused on the state-of-the-art bicycle updates that EUROBIKE had to offer. From cutting edge bicycle accessories to the newest bicycle parts and even entire bicycles prototypes, the show had something for everyone.

    The range of products is what makes Eurobike so unique in the world,” said show director Dirk Heidrich. “We have a number of highly innovative products, but we also have exhibitors in the purely sportive sector, which will raise enthusiasm and visitors.”

    Seeing who takes home the show’s unique awards was still a sight to see. As the main awards drew closer and closer attendees’ excitement increased at the chance to get a glimpse of the shows’ award winners. The winners were chosen by twelve bicycle expert panel judges from all over the world. Their bicycle background consists ofdesign, retail, industry and media. The winners were funneled through a two-stage evaluation procedure where the panel pre-selects the winners and then meets to choose the bicycle company with the best advances.

    “The Eurobike Award is one of the most important genuine yardsticks for innovation and design in the bike world – from the manufacturers, via retailers, to the end users,” said Heidrich.

    The awards are divided into three separate categories with a unique number of winners in each category. The categories are: Gold Award Winners, Green Award Winners, Start Up Winners and Winners. Gold being the most esteemed and prestigious award of the four categories. It is given only to nine bicycle affiliated companies out of hundreds of entries for their leading engineering, function and design.

    The EUROBIKE Awards were also presented in ten different categories: (e-)urban bikes & (e-)cross bikes; (e-)cargo bikes; & (e-)fitness bikes; (e-)mountain bikes; (e-)racing bikes; (e-) special bikes; bicycle components; start-ups; bicycle accessories; digital and concepts projects and apparel.

    CERO then takes home GOLD in the (e)-cargo bike category! Iwai was accompanied by CERO One engineers, Forrest Yelverton and Zach Krapfl, who attend the event every year. Bringing home GOLD was a huge milestone for the company as winning GOLD is the epitome of awards in the bike world.
